O.M.G! I miss this blog SO much!

Wow! I cannot believe how long its been since I've had a chance to get on here and update! It's insanity how busy we are with the girls and juts life in general!

The last time I posted, I had pneumonia. That was last AUGUST! Holy cow! SOOOO much has happened since then that I really don't know where to start! I think I might just do a photo montage from that point forward because trying to post everything that has happened would be brain damage.

The most prolific thing that has happened is that we lost our beloved dog, Cassie. She was a good girl but had spent 15 years with me and it was time to let her go. That was probably one of the hardest days in my life to date. I don't think I've cried that hard ever! I know it was the best thing for her – but I still miss her terribly! She was my first baby and had been with me through a lot of crap!

I rescued her when I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska and have had her since 1996. She moved with me from Alaska to Texas and then back home to Colorado. She was beside me through the divorce from first husband, the loss of 3 grandparents, 6 years of infertility and caught millions of my tears with her soft fur. She saw me marry the love of my life, Chris, the birth of my youngest nephew and niece and most importantly the birth of our girls. She was SO loving with the girls and they still ask about her.

The day I put her down, Chris went to pick the girls up while Jenn and I were still at the vet with her. He told them on the way home that mommy was going to be sad and to give me big hugs and kisses when they saw me. They were so sweet when they got home – they all just hugged me and smiled their beautiful smiles and their faces made that day a little easier. I didn't really know how to explain it to them, so I just told them that Cassie went to live with Jesus and left it at that. A couple days after she was gone, Kaitlyn asked about her. She said "Casshie? Where Casshie?" I said "Cassies with Jesus, baby." Leigha piped up and goes "Casshie – running wis Heehus" and nodded her head emphatically. It was so cute and she was so sure about her answer! I couple minutes later, Kat goes "Oh ok – Casshie with Heehus… mommy? You still sad?" I just nodded. "Yes baby – mommies still sad…." And I always will be. She was a part of my life for almost half of it – she was with me longer than anyone currently in my house. She will always have a special place in my heart and I will always feel the hole left by her passing. RIP Cassie – I love you.

Still sick

Well, last Friday I was diagnosed with pnuemonia and put on oxygen and told to stay home - well here is my 2nd week at home and I don't feel like my breathing has gotten any better yet - YUCK!
At least the girls and daddy didn't get it!

Holy Crap! Did ya think I forgot about this thing?

Truth is - with 3 18month olds running around, the only time that I have gotten on the computer is because I have been home for a week with pneumonia - nice right? LOL!

The girls are doing wonderful! They are all walking and talking up a storm - of course we only understand a couple words but thats ok!

They all say Momma and Dadda and Puppy. Individually, Taylor will say Papa and Tay do (which is when she wants to do something herself! LOL) Leigha is our little talker - she says 'Bailey (a friend at school), puppy, Ell -ee (which is her cousin Allison), Hi, bye, Kaylin (for Kaitlyn) Tay Tay (for Taylor) and DiDi (which is anything that is NOT a puppy i.e. Cows/ Cars/ etc.) Kaitlyn says Bye and Hi and she'll say Moooo for milk which I LOVE! So flippen cute! All in all - they are right on track and doing wonderfully!

Here are some pics from our day in the sun! They didn't like the pool initially until I put a sheet over the grass and then they couldn't get enough!

1 in 8 will be affected.....

Hard to believe that out of my close network of friends, that 1 in 8 of will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Even harder to believe that it happened!

One of my best friends, Nikki, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on March 11, 2010! She is terrified, worried, angry, and every other emotion in the book.....
We are trying to raise money for her and family to help out since she will have to take a lot of time off of work and doesn't have health insurance.

Please visit: thegirlsfornikki.blogspot.com to read about her progress and donate if you're able to!

Breast Cancer is a horrible disease and we all need to fight to help find a cure!
Thanks for reading!!!
