Happy Easter!

Today we celebrate our Savior, Jesus Christ, and his miraculous rising for our sins. Although it's very important for me for my children to understand that true meaning of the holiday - we also doing the Easter Bunny as well.

So, today before breakfast, I came downstairs and got the easter baskets ready. When I was ready, I called up to the girls and told them to come downstairs because I thought the Easter Bunny had come! They came sliding down the stairs SO fast! I don't think they came down that fast on Christmas! LOL They were so excited to see the baskets and rip into them! It was an awesome day!

After we had our Easter baskets here, we met my family at Zio's for Easter dinner. Unfortunately, Nani's back kept her from joining us, so we went to see Nani after lunch. She was very excited to see us all!

O.M.G! I miss this blog SO much!

Wow! I cannot believe how long its been since I've had a chance to get on here and update! It's insanity how busy we are with the girls and juts life in general!

The last time I posted, I had pneumonia. That was last AUGUST! Holy cow! SOOOO much has happened since then that I really don't know where to start! I think I might just do a photo montage from that point forward because trying to post everything that has happened would be brain damage.

The most prolific thing that has happened is that we lost our beloved dog, Cassie. She was a good girl but had spent 15 years with me and it was time to let her go. That was probably one of the hardest days in my life to date. I don't think I've cried that hard ever! I know it was the best thing for her – but I still miss her terribly! She was my first baby and had been with me through a lot of crap!

I rescued her when I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska and have had her since 1996. She moved with me from Alaska to Texas and then back home to Colorado. She was beside me through the divorce from first husband, the loss of 3 grandparents, 6 years of infertility and caught millions of my tears with her soft fur. She saw me marry the love of my life, Chris, the birth of my youngest nephew and niece and most importantly the birth of our girls. She was SO loving with the girls and they still ask about her.

The day I put her down, Chris went to pick the girls up while Jenn and I were still at the vet with her. He told them on the way home that mommy was going to be sad and to give me big hugs and kisses when they saw me. They were so sweet when they got home – they all just hugged me and smiled their beautiful smiles and their faces made that day a little easier. I didn't really know how to explain it to them, so I just told them that Cassie went to live with Jesus and left it at that. A couple days after she was gone, Kaitlyn asked about her. She said "Casshie? Where Casshie?" I said "Cassies with Jesus, baby." Leigha piped up and goes "Casshie – running wis Heehus" and nodded her head emphatically. It was so cute and she was so sure about her answer! I couple minutes later, Kat goes "Oh ok – Casshie with Heehus… mommy? You still sad?" I just nodded. "Yes baby – mommies still sad…." And I always will be. She was a part of my life for almost half of it – she was with me longer than anyone currently in my house. She will always have a special place in my heart and I will always feel the hole left by her passing. RIP Cassie – I love you.
